Serenity Hollow Campground nestled among tall pines with morning mist rising from the forest floor
Heavener, Oklahoma

When did you last let the forest decide the pace?

No Wi-Fi. No rush. Just a canvas cabin under a canopy of pines, the Verdigris River humming nearby, and a sky full of stars you've never seen from your own backyard.

Our Story

A hollow carved out for those who need to disappear — and come back as themselves.

Serenity Hollow sits on a quiet stretch of land in the foothills east of Heavener, where the Cherokee Nation meets the rolling hills of the Ouachita Mountains. We're not a resort. We're not a stopover. We're a place that asks you to slow down.

Our canvas cabin sleeps two comfortably, with a wood-burning stove, a porch overlooking the tree line, and a bathroom just down the path. Beyond it, there are twelve shaded RV sites — some with fire rings, some with river views — and a handful of tent spots tucked into the pines where the only alarm clock is a red-breasted nuthatch.

Named for the natural valley that cradles the property — a place where sound disappears and silence has texture.

What You Can Do

The land does the
heavy lifting

Forest trail winding through oak and hickory trees on the Ouachita foothills

Hiking & Trail Walking

Miles of unmaintained forest paths and older fire roads open to exploration. The ridge above the hollow offers views into Arkansas on clear days.

Verdigris River with calm waters and rocky banks surrounded by autumn foliage

River & Fishing

The Verdigris River runs within a short walk. Kayak, canoe, or just wade. Bass and catfish are regular catches from the bank.

Campfire glowing under a star-filled sky with pine silhouettes in the foreground

Stargazing & Campfires

Zero light pollution. The Milky Way is visible from the cabin porch. Fire rings at every site — bring kindling or buy it from us.

Wildflowers and tall grass in a meadow with a red fox visible in the distance

Wildlife Watching

White-tailed deer at dawn, wild turkeys in the understory, and the occasional red fox crossing the road. Binoculars help — patience helps more.

Historic downtown Heavener with old brick buildings and a quiet main street

Heavener Village

Five minutes from the campground. A general store, a post office, and the famous Heavener Runestone — a real Viking inscription in the woods above town.

Dense autumn forest with golden and crimson leaves carpeting the forest floor

Seasonal Scenery

Spring wildflowers, summer green, fall color that turns the hollow into a cathedral of gold and crimson, and winter stillness that feels sacred.

"We came for a weekend and stayed three. The kind of place that makes you check your phone and realize you haven't looked at it in two days."
